Charlene Edmondson Smith was born on April 18, 1929 to Robert and Mamie Lee (Moore) Edmondson, in Dardanelle, Arkansas.  There, she attended Dunbar High school.  In her early 20s, she moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where she resided until her passing on December 21, 2022. 

Charlene accepted Christ at an early age, later becoming a more than fifty-year member of Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served in various capacities.  She was a Deaconess, served in the kitchen, participated in outreach ministries, including visiting the sick & shut-in.  Additionally, she sent cards to the bereaved, etc.  She truly loved the Lord and serving him in whatever way she could. She was past president of the Greater Lockport Insurance Women's Club, past president of the Lockport Independent Insurance Agents Association, the Health Association of Niagara County Board of Directors, chairperson of the Hamilton House Restoration Committee, served as second Vice President of the Zonta Club, served on the campaign for the United Way, and was vice chairman of the Apple Festival.
